Adele: Album "21" First Ever to go Double Platinum on Itunes

Adele has had her album 21 to be the first ever to go Double Platinum on Itunes.

BBC - Adele has become the first artist ever to go double platinum on iTunes in the US. The 23-year-old has sold two million downloads of 21 on the service, taking her total Stateside sales of the album to more than seven million.

AFP - Just over a week after her spectacular sweep at the Grammys, British soul diva Adele triumphed on home soil Tuesday at the annual Brit Awards in London.
The 23-year-old picked up two awards -- including the prestigious British album of the year -- to add to the six Grammys she won in Los Angeles, cementing her status as one of Britain's most successful pop exports in years.

21 is now the longest running #1 by a woman in billboard history. Whitney Houston previously held this title since 1992.
